James Bond Workout - Shaken Not Stirred

What Type of Workout Would James Bond Do?

The new James Bond, Daniel Craig has quickly become a fitness icon. In Casino Royale, Craig really showed us what a nice toned physique looks like. In 1999, Brad Pitt attained what could be considered the ideal physique...in the movie Fight Club. While both of these guys are in great shape, I would say that Daniel has a bit more muscle. If I was to teach someone how to get a body like Brad Pitt, I would recommend someone do quite a bit more cardio than lifting...maybe cardio for 75% of their time in the gym. To get in James Bond Shape, one would need to do less cardio...maybe for only half of their time in the gym.

The James Bond Workout Eating Schedule

James Bond carried quite a bit of muscle on his frame compared to Tyler Durden (the character that Brad Pitt played in Fight Club). Back in the days of Fight Club, Brad was on The Zone Diet...this meant he was eating 30% of his daily calories in protein. In an interview I saw with Daniel Craig, he mentioned that he ate a significant high protein diet. I'm assuming that 50% of his calories came from protein and less from carbs.

Tyler Durden Ate Less Calories Than James Bond

Brad Pitt was absolutely ripped in Fight Club. Judging by the sharpness of his abs and facial definition, I would say that he was around a body fat percentage of 4-6%. Daniel Craig was most likely around 8% body fat for Casino Royale. James Bond has it easy compared to Tyler Durden! Daniel got to eat quite a bit more than Brad could in preparing for his movie role. While Daniel most likely ate the standard 6 meals a day, I doubt that Brad got away with more than 3-4 super low calorie meals. James Bond had a more sustainable and realistic body in Casino Royale.

Traditional Cardio for a James Bond Workout

High Intensity Interval Training is the quickest route to burning body fat, but not the only route. When Daniel Craig was interviewed, he mentioned that he did a moderate form of cardio for 30-45 minutes in preparing for his role in Casino Royale. In my opinion he would have had an easier time getting to 8% body fat with Interval Cardio, but in reality he did a moderate form of cardio instead. So the James Bond Workout used a more traditional form of cardio.
